Japanese New Year Karaoke Party in Colorado

On January 13th, the Colorado Family Church community hosted a special event inspired by recent testimonies of exciting and bonding Karaoke nights from the Los Angeles CARP Chapter. This night was primarily for college students that were invited from the nearby campus.

Colorado Receives Visit from New Subregional Director

On January 17-19, the Colorado Family Church was privileged to receive a visit from Rev. and Mrs. John Jackson. Rev. Jackson was recently appointed to be the Southwest Subregional Director. Since Colorado is a part of that region, we were grateful to be able to receive a visit from both him and his wife. The whole time they were here, all of their free time was spent on meeting with different families and members of the community that requested to see them.

A Rocky Mountain Blessing

Chuck and Peggy Workman are the newest couple in the Colorado Family Church community to receive the Marriage Blessing. The formal ceremony for the couple was held on Saturday, December 9th. Friends and family joined the festivities, presided over by Pastors Mike and Adonia Hentrich. Many members of the community joined in the celebration and worked together to decorate the chapel, prepare the reception and food. Some people also pitched in financially to purchase wedding attire and rings for the couple. Chuck and Peggy both worked hard over the past year doing special projects to save up a donation for their Blessing Ceremony.

Denver Fundraiser Supports Puerto Rican Relief Efforts

On Saturday, December 9th, UPF-Colorado, in partnership with WFWP Colorado and local salsa instructor Mercy Gonzales, sponsored a fundraiser for disaster relief in Puerto Rico. The situation is Puerto Rico, after Hurricane Maria hit in September, is still dire. Many are still without electricity and even more without access to clean water. A representative of World Vision, the recipient organization, traveled from Seattle to make a presentation about the work they are doing there to help families devastated by the hurricane.

An Interreligious Celebration of Marriage Event in Colorado

On November 18th, an Inter-religious Celebration of Marriage event took place in the Colorado Family Church. It was hosted by the Women's Federation for World Peace of Colorado and was sponsored by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. Six married couples participated: two with a photo of their spouses, and four with their spouses present. Jim and Linda Howell officiated.
